Malaysia is the excellent place to eat.  You can find variety of good food in Malaysia.  Malaysian food, Chinese food, Indian food, Malay food, Penang hawker food, Thai food, Japanese food, Nyonya food, …etc. There are so many food choices. Just name it, sure you can find it. 

I enjoy taking photos of all the good food. However, I always forget the photo taking task and realized it after finished eating. :) See above photo of Tom Yam noodle. Ha! Can’t see the noodle? :) I was too busy eating.

Famous Mixed Rice in Bukit Mertajam

As you know Penang is a paradise for food lovers. Therefore, another post regarding food. Recently, The New York Times nominated Penang as one of 44 places to go in 2009. This is absolutely correct. I must write more about Penang…..

Try to imagine roasted chicken and pork rice with delicious sauce, soup & chili. I don’t know how to call this rice but the name given is nasi campur (mixed rice in Malay language). This mixed rice can be found only in Bukit Mertajam.

Notice the bowl with the soup? The same bowl which is earlier used to cook the rice. I find this unique.  :)

After a while, the food seller inform the crowd the rice has finished. Come again tomorrow. :)

Best Pork Leg with Sweet Vinegar

Hope you have taken your meal before looking at this photo. Ha! Else you will feel really hungry.

This is Chinese food Pork leg with Sweet Vinegar or we call it “Tu Kar Chor” in Hokkien. Don’t know what is this? Then you have missed out this super yummy food from your life.

PorkLegMust be drooling by looking at this photo.  Don’t ask me where to taste this superb Pork Leg because this is  my mom’s best Tu Kar Chor.

Recipe? This is my mom’s secret recipe. Ok, a little bit information regarding the ingredients. Pork leg (of course), eggs, sweet vinegar, garlic, ginger……etc.  After writing this post “ Pork leg with Sweet Vinegar, I feel hungry too.

Char Kway Teow

Char Kueh TeowDo you like food?  OK, another post regarding food.  ”Char Kway Teow” or fried flat noodles, a popular food from Penang, Malaysia that you cannot miss.  For Singaporean and Malaysian, the first thing that come to their mind when they heard the word “Penang”, normally will be ”Penang Char Kway Teow”. Great?

You should try it if you are in Penang.  However, don’t take too much lah else you will have high cholesterol problem. 

Char Kway Teow is fried with bean sprouts, eggs, prawns etc..and of course flat noodles. Most of the Char Kway Teow found in Penang are delicious.  However, i like the Char kway Teow from Bukit Mertajam (near railway station) which fried with duck’s eggs .   The Duck egg Char Kway teow business normally start around 8pm.

So which famous Char Kway Teow do you like the most? From Lorong Selamat or BM or….

The most famous A1 Wan Tan Mee From BM

This is the most famous Wan Tan Mee in Bukit Mertajam.  The Wan Tan Mee is very special & delicious.  Still don’t believe it ???  See how the mee seller arranged the bowls (more than 10 bowls each time) !!! He kept on preparing the mee as there are always ppl Q for the mee.  See the videos below. They were so busy that until they needed to increase their speed.  I put up these photos so that those who cannot enjoy the mee can enjoy it through this site. Especially my big brother . Ha! Ha!
