Shing Kheang Aun Restaurant

Established in 1941, Shing Kheang Aun restaurant in Penang is very popular among the locals and tourists for its Hainanese cuisine and local dishes.

It was great to be there and we love the interior environment of the restaurant. The heritage prewar building, wooden chairs, wooden tables , marble floor, marble table top etc which are very well preserved.

Do take note of how they serve their customer seated on the first floor. Very interesting. They deliver the dishes from the ground floor kitchen with pulley system.

We overheard people around us in the restaurant. They were impressed by the pulley system and the old fashion style of this restaurant. Some even said they wanted to try all the dishes. :)

Some of the famous dishes. Fried Salted Egg with Bitter Gourd and Tofu with prawns.

With a friendly smile, the restaurant owner asked me whether we managed to finish the dishes. ” Of course!” I replied. :)

As this restaurant is situated in the heritage city, you can enjoy the old historical streets and buildings after having your meal at Shing Kheang Aun restaurant.
