Free Nokia Ovi Maps! This is a great news for Nokia users.

I just installed the new version of free Nokia Ovi Maps.  Tell you what, I like it really much.  Even with the assisted GPS enable, the result is superb.

Before installing Ovi Maps, remember to check your phone software version and the list of compatible Nokia devices. The software version should be 31.0.008 or greater.

There are various countries maps available.  Check out the 3D landmarks.  This application is not just for motorists and it is for pedestrians too.

I just installed Power Twitter by Narendra Rocherolle and Nick Wilder and find it very useful.

Power Twitter (PT) is the add-on feature for Firefox and available for Safari too.

PT adds features to the Twitter Web interface and here are some of them:-

1. Easy photo posting. With PT, you can share your photo easily and view photo without clicking on the link. You can choose from the setting either to use yfrog, TwitPic, TweetPhoto or Twigoo.

2. Easy to share and view video with Power Twitter. Just post your video and you can view the video from the same page.

3.  With Twitter,you don’t know where the short links from before clicking on it. With PT,you can see the expanded URLs showing you where the links might take you.



4.  Mouse over to an avatar and you can see the recent updates from that person.

5.  Easily shorten the URLs and many more.

Tweets60 is easy to install and provides all the basic functions of Twitter. For example, reply, follow, unfollow, retweet and direct message.



The con of Tweets60 is without the search function. However, it is enough for me with all the basic functions whilst on the move.

How to share photos on Twitter?  You can use Twitpic which allows users to share photos with friends and Twitter followers.

Twitpic is the most popular image sharing service on Twitter. Yesterday, a Twitter user saw a helicopter crashed into the Hudson River and share the photo via Twitpic.

Twitter provides an easy way and fast way to communicate.


The other day, I was unable to access my site.  In order to find out whether this is due to web hosting problem and whether others with the same web host had the same problem, I tried to search it by using Twitter.


Twitter search is just amazing. From the search result, I noticed that others had sent out tweets and unable to access their sites too.


Immediately I sent out a tweet to the web hosting support team and received fast and friendly respond. I must admit that I am happy with the service provided by the support team.

Adding a link or long URL when using Twitter will be annoying as Twitter only allow you to post your update up to 140 characters.

If you are a TweetDeck user, you will notice that a number of URL shortening services can be selected from the drop down list through the Settings panel. Simply add the original URL to the “Shorten URL” box and click on “Shorten URL” button. The new generated URL will be inserted to the Tweet box. Cool?

Here are some of the simple URL shortening services which reduce the length of the original URL.

is.gd
