Teh Tarik Demonstration
The longest non stop teh tarik “pulled tea” demonstration.
To prepare this popular drink you need to have the skill of “pulling” the tea.
The Art Of Making Candy
This video shows the process of making colourful candies. The talented and friendly candy maker is from Thailand. He makes the candies into various shape such as flower, fish, dragon etc. I wonder this is a dying art .
Rent A Bike?
Explore Guangzhou by bicycle?
Planned to rent a bike during our trip to Guangzhou but the weather was too cold (6 degree Celsius).
A great service provided by the hostel.
Heavy Drinker
The other day, we bought Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon wines for mom. Hmmm…the Cabernet Sauvignon came with this nice wine bottle holder. Mom loves it very much.
We thought mom will have a good night’s sleep after she finished a whole bottle of wine. Guess what? She still managed to wake up early in the morning and said she not able to sleep well. So a nice bottle of wine is not one of the tips for a good sleep.
Natural Colours of Wet Market
Some people find wet market very unglamorous. Some people find it smelly and some don’t like the wet floors. Well, I see the beauty of outdoor wet market.
I like the traditional atmosphere. I always enjoy the scene and take photos while mom doing the price negotiation. The natural colours of the vegetables, the way they sell various types of fish and scene of people selling home grown vegetables etc.
Vegetable sellers were happy as they thought I am a reporter and the photos will be published in the newspaper the next morning.
I wonder this will help in mom’s price negotiation.
Season Of Spring

Can’t believe this nice view can be seen in Penang. What a lucky day! Great colour too!
How wonderful if this beautiful scenery can be seen everyday and everywhere in Penang. These flowers keep falling from the trees even though it was not a windy day. Cars parked under the trees were covered by all these yellow flowers.
Trying to be creative, bro asked me to take a photo with flowers falling from the trees. The artificial one.
He will drop the tiny flowers in front of my camera. Creative?
While adjusting my camera, the flowers keep falling in front me. I asked my bro to wait as the camera is not ready yet. I thought my brother was pouring the flowers in front of the camera. But no, he hasn’t.
Epiphyllum oxypetalum
The name of this plant is Epiphyllum oxypetalum. I don’t know how to pronounce it either.
What is so special about this flower? The flowers only bloom at night and last only one single night. I snapped this photo around 1am.
This plant is from the cactus family and have strong smell. I don’t like the smell. Amazing?
Tabebuia Rosea in Penang
Can’t help but really need to post more photos of these nice flowers blooming in Bukit Mertajam. The sky is blue and it makes the flowers on the trees look even better. The rain finally stopped. We continue with our mission.
We hope to snap more photos and enjoy the beautiful scenery.
Found the name of these trees as Tabebuia Rosea. Some called the trees as trumpet trees. These trees also can be found in Mexico, Panama, Brazil …etc.
Here, we could find magenta, white and pink Tabebuia Rosea but cannot find any yellow one.
Trees
See this wonderful scene? Where is this place? This nice scene definitely will help to cheer up your day. Recently you can see these trees with pink and white flowers blooming at some locations of Prai and Penang island. Tabebuia Rosea is the name of the tree. Last week, there were even more flowers on the trees and with thick layers of flowers on the ground.
Today I decided to go for trees hunting.
The flowers are still there but not as many as last week due to a few days of heavy rain. After I took these photos, I noticed others stopped their cars and snapped some photos too.
Do you know George Town is among the top 10 locations in Asia where Europeans prefer to work and live in? I think these trees play one of the important roles too.
Our Chinese New Year

Eat, laugh, eat, talk, eat and laugh again.
This is the situation of my Grandmother’s house every year during Chinese New Year.
The house is crowded and we even lost count of how many cousin brothers and
sisters we have.
We have to speak loudly if not nobody will hear you.
If you cannot find a seat, stand aside. Otherwise, you will cause traffic jam.
If you don’t receive your “Ang Pow” you must raise your hand, or else nobody will notice you.
If you don’t give ”Ang Pow” nobody will find out too.
Good?
The younger one can be the uncle or aunt of the older one. Cool?
The other day, my big brother was joking about maybe we should set up our own family version of “Deal or No Deal” game show. Ha! I think we should organize the game show next year.
Happy Chinese New Year!
